I’m Sarah Mossey, a creative leader, project manager, and designer with more than 13 years of experience at the University of Rochester. Over that time, I’ve guided more than 4,000 communications projects from concept to completion, everything from quick-turn event marketing to environmental graphics to enterprise-wide campaigns. What I love most is turning complex ideas and competing stakeholder opinions into clear, beautiful communications that audiences will use and remember.
Skills
- Systems Thinker: I see harmonious connections between projects, platforms, and people.
- Collaborative Leader: I thrive on building strong partnerships with colleagues across the University.
- Hands-On Maker: I stay close to the work. I love to design and build.
I believe design is not just decoration, it’s problem solving, storytelling, and relationship-building. My best work happens when I’m helping others shine.
Beyond the Desk
I’ve served as a community-builder at the University of Rochester, co-founding the University’s first enterprise-wide staff art show, the Artful Unwind, in 2023 and serving for seven years on the board of Emerging Leaders affinity group. I recently joined the Genesee Staff Council, representing the Central Finance and Administration District for a two year term. I strive to create the safe conditions where people can share ideas.
The Next Step
I’m excited to keep shaping systems and stories that highlight the brilliance, creativity, and humanity of our community. Every project is a chance to connect to something bigger.
